My Story

I've always loved nursing, but after Covid I was Googling 'remote nursing jobs' like my life depended on it — and found zero good options.

So I took a marketing class, and quickly found a freelance market that nurses are perfect for (honestly, we should be the only ones doing this work).

This guide exists because earning extra income from home shouldn't be complicated, and you deserve it without burning out.

  • What do you mean 'freelancing' and 'digital content'?

Freelancing (also called “gig” or “contract” work) means completing projects for clients without committing to a full-time job.

When I say 'digital content' I mean ANYTHING that a company needs created:

Articles, blogs, brochures, flyers, ebooks, editing, emails, exam questions, Google ads, social media posts/management (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok), study materials/exam prep, video content, etc

Imagine trying just one of these skills, getting good at it, and charging for your expertise — all without leaving your couch.

  • What if I have no experience?

Neither did I when I started. Neither did anyone else when they started. We all start somewhere.

My ebook walks you through the exact steps to start freelancing as a nurse — no experience required.

Every day, people everywhere are learning new online skills and building side incomes — so why not nurses?

Nurses bring something these other freelancers simply can’t: real healthcare experience.

    And that experience matters.

It belongs behind every piece of health and wellness content — and companies know it. They’re not just looking for generic writers or marketers; they’re looking for us.

  • Isn't AI taking over digital work?

Think about watching Grey’s Anatomy or any other medical drama — it almost becomes a game pointing out everything that’s medically inaccurate.

That’s exactly what happens when medical content is created without real experience.

So sure, AI can churn out mass amounts of content, but it can’t create medically accurate insights from first-hand experience.

    That’s what makes us irreplaceable.

Google increasingly prioritizes content from credentialed, trustworthy sources, and companies need real healthcare professionals like us to create it.

  • Are there enough jobs?

There are endless opportunities out there right now, and new healthcare companies and startups pop up every day, looking to work with freelancers with real healthcare experience.

Here are the example of projects I’ve done: (after trying so many things, I’ve found my niche in cardiac-related work)

Blogs for senior living and hearing aid companies

LinkedIn posts for a remote staffing agency, a healthcare podcast and virtual anatomy company

Email marketing for health and wellness companies

Article/public release for new cardiac procedure

Visuals for a mental health app

In-office posters for a telehealth company

Social media management for a maternal mental health app

Instagram posts for cardiac education company

    Resources for cardiac exam prep
